Bansuri Flutist / Composer / Author
A New York based multi-instrumentalist who plays the Bansuri, Native American flutes, guitar, keyboards, percussion, and electronics.
His syncretic approach to composition and improvisation is at the same time innovative and grounded in traditional training — a degree in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music, and extensive studies in India under Bansuri legend Pandit Raghunath Seth and Sarod Maestro Pandit Vikash Maharaj.
A veteran performer, Josh has performed with Pop legend Paul Simon and is currently recording and touring with Desert Dwellers. He is the author of "The Chromatic Bansuri", a cross-cultural guide to learning the North Indian bamboo flute, and an accomplished flute maker who has innovated the design and construction of the bansuri, dramatically expanding its expressive range.
